Located in Chester City centre Charles F Jones & Son is one of the country’s leading specialist firms of Chartered Surveyors. The Firm offers a broad spectrum of professional services to their clients including a successful Rating department which acts for the majority of Holiday Parks and Holiday Centres in England and Wales, a Valuation Department specialising in valuation for all eventualities including acquisitions, audited accounts, bank funding, capital gains and compensation claims including divorce, the most experienced specialist Holiday and Home Park Planning Department in the UK and a specialist Leisure Agency Division dealing with the sale and acquisition of holiday parks, park home estates, holiday centres together with marinas and golf courses.

The Firm has a national presence operating solely from the Chester office although it has not always been that way. Established in 1871 in London by Charles F Jones the Firm began life as Rating Surveyors and quickly built up a good reputation. Dudley Gale-Hasleham joined the Firm in 1926 and it was he that first got the Firm involved with the Leisure Industry. Kept busy by various Rating and Valuation Acts following the First World War the Firm soon became involved in holiday camps.

Dudley Gale-Hasleham’s son Roy joined the Firm in 1947 and took an early interest in holiday camps. In 1958 Roy made a successful Rating Appeal at Prestatyn which received a considerable amount of publicity in the national press. Charles F Jones & Son’s presence in the leisure market grew building a strong client base to include such household names as Billy Butlin, Jack Warner and Fred Pontin. Due to the heavy work loading in North Wales the Firm set up an office in Rhyl in 1960. The partnership recognised the geographical importance of Chester and opened up a base there in 1976 to better service their national network of Clients.

Acting for clients in all parts of the country quite literally from Land’s End across to Folkestone and up to the northern parts of Scotland and Ireland, the Firm enjoys an enviable reputation in the Leisure Sector. Whilst Roy retired in 2005 his sons David, who joined the firm in 1971 and Robert in 1986 together with Mike Bond , who has been with the firm since 1965 continue as equity Partners. They are supported by a dedicated team of professionally qualified staff and together they continue to maintain their presence as a leading specialist firm of Chartered Surveyors advising the Leisure Industry.

Charles F Jones and Son LLP are retained National Advisors to the Caravan Parks Industry including the National Caravan Council, the British Holiday and Home Parks Association(Regional), National Park Home Council, The Caravan Club to name a few and the Firm is regularly instructed by the major finance houses to provide valuations for secured lending purposes.
