Description
The Park is well sign posted from Skinburness Road; the main entrance is via a private tarmac roadway leading past several private properties before opening out into the park. Either side of the entrance are conveniently placed reception and owners/site manager’s bungalow. A 2nd entrance, which is seldom used, provides a useful roadway for the transportation of static caravans to and from the site. The site also benefits from a large toilet block with garage, useful WW2 Bunker and compound with green house.
In total the site extends to approximately 6 acres [2.43 ha] bordered by fields and next to a disused WW2 airfield. Originally the park was 2 separate parks, The Old Park with planning permission for 21 pitches and the New Park with planning for 79 pitches including 20 touring pitches. The parks have since merged and now operate under Seacote Caravan Park, in total 76 holiday static pitches and 18 touring pitches are developed. The static pitches are laid to hardcore with serviced bases and parking beside caravans. Touring pitches are located towards the entrance of the site the majority of which are laid to hardcore, some being grass with all benefitting from electric hook-ups. Low level street lighting is positioned around the tarmac and gravel roadways.
Within the Old Park is a World War 2 bunker which is deceptively large and now used for bike storage but could make an attractive holiday let if converted. The toilet block and compound are located approximately halfway down the park.
Location
Situated in a picturesque area on the Solway Firth Coast in North Cumbria, the area has a good reputation as a holiday resort with long stretching views to Southwest Scotland and reputed mild climate due to the gulf stream. Silloth is a beautiful coastal town with shops, public houses amongst other amenities. It has wide tree lined streets inset with granite sets; the promenade is excellent for walking and a green with recreation facilities where various festivals are held during the summer.
There are many local activities including an 18 hole championship Golf Course, long stretching beaches, launch ramps for water craft and cycle routes to name a few. Within a short drive are numerous attractions including the Lake District National Park and Hadrian’s Wall.
The Park is located off Skinburness Road just North of Silloth and is approximately 26 miles to the M6 junction at Carlisle.
